The opportunity to fight for better pay and conditions can only come if the health of the community […] The ANMF notes with satisfaction that the autonomous municipal health centres have received correspondence from the Ministry of Health and Human Services that should allow us to move forward with a single EBA to cover the general public sector. Autonomous local health centres are those that are not run by a public hospital. Nine Victorian community health centres are voting on a management agreement proposed by the administration. The proposed agreement is sub-standard at a number of levels and, if adopted, would have negative effects[…] On 12 July, VAHPA and the Victorian Hospitals` Association (VHIA) agreed on the principle of a new enterprise agreement for the community`s autonomous health. The ANMF remains committed to doing everything in its power to conclude a new EAS before the current agreement expires on 31 March 2020. Future wage increases for the new EBA are included in the current EBA and will be transferred to the new EBA. Members of the following jobs are expected to receive a communication on workers` representation rights (legal obligation for each employer) inviting workers to appoint their bargaining representative in the near future. The ANMF is the standard bargaining representative for members and members are not required to take action.
